The joint venture of TransAlta Corp. and Duet Group has completed the Fortescue River gas pipeline in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The work was completed in 9 months for an estimated cost of $183 million (Aus.).

The line will transport North West Shelf gas to TransAlta’s Solomon electric power station which services Fortescue Metals Group’s mining operations.

It is the longest gas pipeline built in Western Australia during the last decade, TransAlta says.
