MARKET WATCH: Crude oil futures end week above $76/bbl in New York

The New York Mercantile Exchange January crude oil contract increased 66¢ on Nov. 21, closing at $76.51/bbl. The February 2015 contract increased as well, up 74¢ to $76.59/bbl.

The natural gas contract for December fell 22.3¢ to a rounded $4.27/MMbtu. The cash gas price at Henry Hub, La., was $4.31/MMbtu, down 10¢.

Heating oil for December delivery gained 2.45¢ to a rounded $2.41/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for December delivery was up 2.89¢ to a rounded $2.06/gal.

The January 2015 ICE contract for Brent crude oil increased $1.03, closing at $80.36/bbl, while the February contract gained $1.11 to $80.85/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for December climbed $8.50 to $704.25/tonne.

The average price for OPEC’s basket of 12 benchmark crudes on Nov. 21 was $75.42/bbl, jumping $1.39.
