Skea to be president of Energy Institute

Jim Skea, professor of sustainable energy at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College, is president-elect of the Energy Institute, London. He will be nominated for appointment to the position at the group’s annual general meeting in June 2015.

Jim Skea, professor of sustainable energy at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College, is president-elect of the Energy Institute, London. He will be nominated for appointment to the position at the group’s annual general meeting in June 2015.

Skea is a founding member of the UK’s Committee on Climate Change and is vice-chair of Working Group III (Mitigation) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

He will succeed Ian Marchant, former chief executive of SSE (formerly Scottish & Southern Energy).
