Sunshine interim CEO resigns; executive chairman assumes role

Michael Hibberd, executive chairman of Sunshine Oilsands Ltd., Calgary, has assumed direct responsibility for all tasks and functions of chief executive officer after the company’s board accepted the resignation of David Sealock as interim president and chief executive officer.

Michael Hibberd, executive chairman of Sunshine Oilsands Ltd., Calgary, has assumed direct responsibility for all tasks and functions of chief executive officer after the company’s board accepted the resignation of David Sealock as interim president and chief executive officer.

Sealock had been with Sunshine since 2008 and interim president and chief executive officer since Dec. 10, 2013.

Sealock’s resignation letter noted that the company “is in a very strong position to complete the West Ells project based on deliverables achieved during the last 9 months (OGJ Online, Aug. 20, 2013).”

Hibberd said Sunshine has retained an executive search firm.
