PDVSA wraps major maintenance at Puerto La Cruz refinery

Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) has completed major maintenance on the atmospheric distillation unit at its 190,000-b/d Puerto La Cruz refinery in eastern Venezuela, the state-owned company said.

Maintenance work on atmospheric distillation Unit No. 2 (DA-2) lasted for 42 consecutive days, PDVSA said.

Details regarding the specific nature of the planned maintenance were not disclosed.

DA-2 is designed to process 70,000-b/d of Venezuelan heavy Merey (16° API gravity) crude to produce naphtha, diesel, and atmospheric residues, PDVSA said.
