Neste Oil Corp. is building a biopropane unit at its 800,000-tonne/year Rotterdam renewable diesel refinery in the Netherlands.
The unit, which will purify and separate biopropane from side-stream gases produced by the refinery, will have a production capacity of 30,000–40,000 tpy, Neste said.
The project, which is valued at about $77.4 million, will include associated storage tanks and pipework, the company said.
Construction is to start immediately, with biopropane sales scheduled to begin at yearend 2016, the company said.
