MARKET WATCH: Crude oil, natural gas futures making gains

The New York Mercantile Exchange November crude oil contract was up $1.24 on Sept. 24, closing at $92.80/bbl. The December contract was up $1.16 to $92.07/bbl.

The natural gas contract for October gained 9.5¢ to a rounded $3.91/MMbtu, while the November contract gained 9.6¢ to a rounded $3.97. On the US cash market, gas at Henry Hub, La., was $3.84/MMbtu, down 5¢.

Heating oil for October delivery rose a little more than half a penny to a rounded $2.69/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for October increased 3.51¢ to a rounded $2.66/gal.

The November ICE contract for Brent crude delivery increased 10¢ to $96.95/bbl. The December contract increased 4¢ to $97.62/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for October fell $4.75 to settle at $806.75/tonne.

The average price for the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ basket of 12 benchmark crudes on Sept. 24 was $94.18/bbl, down 13¢.
