Oxy assigns executive responsibilities

Occidental Petroleum Corp. has clarified executive management responsibilities following the recent appointment of leadership for the company’s California Resources Corp. (CRC) subsidiary.

Occidental Petroleum Corp. has clarified executive management responsibilities following the recent appointment of leadership for the company’s California Resources Corp. (CRC) subsidiary (OGJ Online, July 10, 2014).

WCW Chiang, who has served as executive vice-president, operations, since joining Oxy from ConocoPhillips in 2012, will continue to oversee the midstream businesses, worldwide engineering, corporate reserves, and the capital allocation process, adding supply chain to his purview.

Chiang will additionally assume responsibility for Oxy’s chemical operations (OxyChem) and government affairs.

Vicki A. Hollub, currently executive vice-president, US operations, overseeing domestic production, asset growth, and drilling, will assume the role of president, Occidental Oil & Gas–Americas (OGJ Online, Oct. 11, 2013). In her new role she will also oversee Latin America operations and worldwide exploration.

Edward A. Lowe, president, Occidental Oil & Gas–International since 2009, will retain his current responsibility for oil and gas producing assets in the Middle East as well as the major projects development group, nonoperated assets in the Middle East, and international drilling functions (OGJ Online, Mar. 30, 2009).

Each executive will directly report to Stephen I. Chazen, Oxy president and chief executive officer since 2011 (OGJ Online, Oct. 14, 2010).

Oxy in February reported plans to move its headquarters to Houston amid spinning off its California business. Oxy will maintain exploration and production operations in the Permian basin and other parts of Texas, the Middle East, and Colombia (OGJ Online, Feb. 14, 2014).
