Nansei Sekiyu KK, a wholly owned subsidiary of Brazil’s Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras), is in the process of restarting operations at its 100,000-b/d Nishihara refinery on the island of Okinawa, Japan, following a shutdown ahead of Typhoon Neoguri’s arrival to the region earlier in the week (OGJ Online, July 9, 2014).
Land shipping operations at the refinery’s truck terminal resumed early on July 9, while marine shipping operations at the plant’s berths 1, 2, and 3 restarted on the morning of July 11, Petrobras told OGJ via e-mail.
Remaining operations at the refinery are scheduled to resume over the weekend of July 12-13, following the conclusion of both integrity and operational safety inspection of the plant’s units, according to Petrobras.
