Hawkwood acquires East Texas interests

Hawkwood Energy LLC, Denver, has entered the Eagle Ford and Woodbine plays of East Texas with two acquisitions.

Hawkwood Energy LLC, Denver, has entered the Eagle Ford and Woodbine plays of East Texas with two acquisitions.

The company, which began operations in 2012, bought properties from Crimson Energy Partners III LLC located mostly in Brazos County. It also bought assets from Encana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. located mostly in Robertson County. The acreage extends into Leon and Madison counties.

Combined, the transactions include 1,800 b/d of oil production and more than 50,000 generally contiguous net undeveloped acres. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Hawkwood Energy started up with a line-of-equity commitment of $315 million from investors led by Warburg Pincus and Ontario Teacher’s Pension Plan.
