Magellan Midstream Partners LP and Occidental Petroleum Corp. have launched a supplemental open season for additional transportation commitments for the 300,000-b/d BridgeTex pipeline connecting Colorado City, Tex. with the Houston Gulf Coast area.

Construction of the pipeline, now in the final stages, began in November 2012 following an initial successful open season in which BridgeTex secured long-term transportation commitments supporting the project (OGJ Online, June 12, 2012).

Initial linefill requirements are being received, and pipeline movements are expected to begin by mid-third quarter to deliver crude to the Houston Gulf Coast.

The deadline for binding commitments is 5 p.m. CST on Aug. 7.
