MARKET WATCH: Crude, gas futures prices waffle in mixed market

The New York Mercantile Exchange July crude oil contract price declined 16¢ closing at $102.48/bbl on June 5. The August contract dropped 12¢ to settle at $101.81/bbl.

The New York Mercantile Exchange July crude oil contract price declined 16¢ closing at $102.48/bbl on June 5. The August contract dropped 12¢ to settle at $101.81/bbl.

The natural gas contract for July was up 6.1¢ to settle at a rounded $4.70/MMbtu. On the US cash market, gas at Henry Hub, La., was $4.64/MMbtu, a 7¢ jump.

Heating oil for July delivery increased 3.16¢ to a rounded $2.88/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for July delivery rose 2.11¢ to a rounded $2.96/gal.

The July and August ICE contract for Brent crude delivery each gained 39¢, closing at respective prices of $108.79/bbl and $108.11/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for June was unchanged from June 4 at $883.75/tonne.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ basket of 12 benchmark crudes was $104.73/bbl on June 5, falling 83¢.
