MARKET WATCH: Crude oil, gas futures prices make gains

The New York Mercantile Exchange May crude oil contract was up 67¢ on Apr. 3, closing at $100.29/bbl. The June contract gained 73¢ to $99.63/bbl.

The New York Mercantile Exchange May crude oil contract was up 67¢ on Apr. 3, closing at $100.29/bbl. The June contract gained 73¢ to $99.63/bbl.

The May natural gas contract increased 10.6¢ to $4.47/MMbtu. The Henry Hub cash price for gas was unavailable on Apr. 3.

Heating oil for May delivery rose 3.96¢ to a rounded $2.91/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for May delivery was up 4.5¢ to remain at a rounded $2.91/gal.

In London, the May ICE contract for Brent crude delivery collected an additional $1.36, closing at $106.15/bbl. The June contract increased $1.32 to $106.09/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for April declined gained $8 to $881.50/tonne.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries reported its basket of 12 benchmark crudes was $101.57/bbl on Apr. 3, relinquishing 15¢, its lowest price of the year thus far.
