MARKET WATCH: Crude oil futures down, gas up in mixed markets

The New York Mercantile Exchange April crude oil contract declined $1.46 on Mar. 10, closing at $101.12/bbl. The May contract lost $1.40 to $100.59/bbl.

The New York Mercantile Exchange April crude oil contract declined $1.46 on Mar. 10, closing at $101.12/bbl. The May contract lost $1.40 to $100.59/bbl.

Heating oil for April delivery fell 4.47¢ to a rounded $2.97/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for April delivery was down 2.44¢ to a rounded $2.95/gal.

The April natural gas contract rose 3.3¢ to a rounded $4.65/MMbtu. On the US spot market, the gas price at Henry Hub was a rounded $4.64/MMbtu, dropping 12.5¢.

In London, the April ICE contract for Brent crude delivery gave up 92¢, closing at $108.08/bbl. The May contract relinquished 95¢ to close at $107.51/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for March lost $6.25 to $908.25/tonne.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries reported its basket of 12 benchmark crudes was $104.48/bbl on Mar. 10, falling 50¢.
