Lukoil begins second-stage construction for Filanovsky field

OAO Lukoil said construction has begun on the living quarters platform (LQP-2) for the second stage of development of the Vladimir Filanovsky field in the northern Caspian Sea (OGJ Online, April 12, 2013).

Astrakhan’s Krasnye Barrikady shipyard will construct two bearing blocks, the topsides of the LQP, and a catwalk bridge to connect the LQP-2 and the ice-resistant platform (IRP-2).

LQP-2 will accommodate 55 people and include a helicopter pad. It is to be commissioned in autumn 2016.

Lukoil’s development plan for the field indicates topsides sections for the first stage will be mounted in 2014. Commercial drilling is scheduled to begin in 2014 and oil production is expected to start by the end of 2015.
