Cairn India Ltd. has named Mike Yeager as chairman, operations review board. He currently serves as executive chairman and chief executive officer of Houston-based Maverick Drilling & Exploration.
Yeager spent the previous 38 years with ExxonMobil Corp., BHP Billiton Ltd., and the United States Marine Corps. Cairn said he will assist in the company’s agenda of aggressive growth while focusing on unlocking the potential of assets such as Rajasthan block, on which the company earlier this year said it intended to drill more than 450 wells over the next 3 years (OGJ Online, Apr. 23, 2013).
Cairn in February spudded its first exploratory well in more than 4 years on Rajasthan’s RJ-ON-90/1 development block (OGJ Online, Feb. 26, 2013).
