Sami Iskander has been named chief operating officer of BG Group PLC, succeeding Martin Houston, who is retiring.
Iskander has been executive vice-president, operations.
Houston has worked with BG Group since joining its predecessor company, British Gas Corp., in 1983 as a petroleum geologist.
