BP lets contract for Sullom Voe intervention

BP Exploration Operating Co. Ltd. let a contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. to support work on the Sullom Voe Terminal on Shetland Island, Scotland, in anticipation of a production increase in the West of Shetlands area.

BP Exploration Operating Co. Ltd. let a contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. to support work on the Sullom Voe Terminal on Shetland Island, Scotland, in anticipation of a production increase in the West of Shetlands area (OGJ Online, Apr. 5, 2013).

BP expects to spend as much as $200 million over 4 years on intervention work at the facility.

Jacobs said it will provide project management, engineering, and construction for extensive fabric maintenance works, tankage, and process unit turnarounds. It also will handle other projects focused on improving the condition and reliability of the terminal.

Sullom Voe handles oil and gas from more than 30 fields.
