A 3D and 2D mapping program is to start in this year’s fourth quarter on the Tyra and Perlas blocks in the Caribbean offshore Nicaragua.
Infinity Energy Resources Inc., Overland Park, Kan., will shoot the seismic to help evaluate the combined 1.4 million acres of concessions. Infinity Energy said it retained Robert Fleming, a 38-year geosciences veteran, as a geophysical consultant to evaluate the seismic data once collected.
Infinity Energy also noted that a Noble Energy Inc. group is drilling the initial exploratory well on Noble’s 1.8 million-acre concessions adjacent east of Tyra and Perlas. Noble spudded the well in late August and said it expected to announce results within about 90 days.
