Dana Petroleum names chief operating officer

Dana Petroleum has appointed Graham Scotton as the Aberdeen-based company’s first chief operating officer.

Dana Petroleum has appointed Graham Scotton as the Aberdeen-based company’s first chief operating officer. Graham will report to Marcus Richards, the company’s group chief executive. Scotton also has been appointed to the company’s board.

Scotton has worked in the oil and gas industry for 36 years, during which time he served for BP PLC and BG Group. He joins Dana Petroleum from his previous role as country manager for Cobalt International Energy in Angola.

Scotton has held senior leadership positions in Kazakhstan, Venezuela, Azerbaijan, Norway, the US, the UK, Egypt, and Angola.

In April Dana Petroleum appointed Paul Barnett, a former senior manager in Hess Corp. in Libya and Russia, as managing director of its Egypt business (OGJ Online, April 29, 2013).
