Kuwait reshuffles oil and gas leadership

Kuwait’s state-owned oil, gas, petrochemical, and services industries have new leaders.

A government spokesperson described the shake-up as an effort “to give the opportunity for a second generation to carry full responsibilities amid requirements in the coming stage.”

At the national oil company, Kuwait Petroleum Corp. (KPC), Nizar Al-Adsani becomes chief executive officer and vice-president of the board of directors.

At KPC’s subsidiaries, the role of chairman of the board has been segregated from that of managing directors.

New managing directors are Hashim Hashim at Kuwait Oil Co., Mohammad Al-Mutairi at Kuwait National Petroleum Co., Asaad Al-Saad at Petrochemical Industries Co., Ahmed Behbehani at Kuwait Oil Tanker Co., Bekheet Al-Rashidi at Kuwait Petroleum International, Nawaf Al-Sabah at Kuwait Foreign Exploration Co., Ali Al-Shemmeri at Kuwait Gulf Oil Co., and Ali Al-Obaid at Oil Sector Services Co.

New chairmen of the boards are Nabil Bouresli at Kuwait Oil, Asaad Al-Saad at Kuwait National Petroleum, Mohammed Al-Farhoud at Petrochemical Industries, Talal Al-Khaled Al-Sabah at Kuwait Oil Tanker, Mohammed Al-Mutairi at KPC Holdings Aruba A.E.C., Sanad Al-Sanad at Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration, Mohammed Sayyed Abdulwahab at Kuwait Gulf Oil, Mefreh Al-Shemmeri at Oil Sector Services, and Fouad Al-Abbasi at Kuwait Aviation Fueling Co.
