NET Midstream’s wholly owned subsidiary NET Mexico Pipeline LP reported it plans to build a 124-mile, 42-in. natural gas pipeline system that will deliver Eagle Ford shale gas to the Texas-Mexico border. A long-term firm gas transportation agreement for as much as 2.1 bcfd with MGI Supply Ltd., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Pemex Gas y Petroquimica Basica, anchors the project.
NET Mexico will transport gas from the Agua Dulce hub in Nueces County, Tex., to a point near Rio Grande City, Tex., in Starr County. The pipeline will enter service December 2014.
NET Midstream operates three other pipeline systems in the Eagle Ford shale:
• Eagle Ford Midstream is a 150-mile, predominantly 30-in. OD intrastate natural gas pipeline supplying the Brasada processing plant in LaSalle County (operated by Western Gas Partners) and shipping pipeline-quality gas to the Agua Dulce hub. A long-term gas transportation agreement with an affiliate of Anadarko Petroleum Corp. anchors shipments to Agua Dulce (OGJ Online, Mar. 23, 2012).
• LaSalle Pipeline is a 52-mile, 16-in. OD pipeline supplying a 200-Mw power plant in Pearsall, Tex.
• South Shore Pipeline is a 30-mile pipeline serving the City of Corpus Christi under a long-term gas supply and transportation contract.
