Total E&P UK Ltd. and DONG E&P (UK) Ltd., partners in developing Laggan and Tormore fields west of the Shetland Islands, have awarded a 3-year operations and maintenance contract to Aker Solutions, Houston, at the Shetland gas plant (OGJ, Dec. 6, 2010, p. 60).

The 500-MMcfd plant is currently under construction at Sullom Voe to handle production from the fields, which lie about 78 miles northwest of the islands. The plant will treat raw produced gas and send it on to Total’s St. Fergus terminal in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

The partners anticipated producing first gas in second-quarter 2014.

In October 2010, the joint venture awarded a £500 million contract to Petrofac for engineering and procurement, supply, construction, commissioning, and start-up at the gas plant.
