Noble Energy Inc. is plugging and abandoning its Trema exploration well in the Tilapia license offshore Cameroon after reaching its target objective.

Noble said it encountered “reservoir-quality sandstones that were water-bearing.”

Noble operated the well with 50% interest and estimated its total cost for the well at $35 million.

In 2006, Noble Energy Cameroon Ltd. acquired 50% interest in 1.125 million acres offshore Cameroon between the coast and Cameroon’s border with Equatorial Guinea from ConocoPhillips (OGJ Online, July 7, 2006).
