TNK-BP cuts drilling time with training
TNK-BP subsidiary OJSC Orenburgneft has reduced drilling time by 30% through training, the parent company reports.
Since the beginning of a “skills-enhancement program for technical specialists” in 2010, TNK-BP says, the average time required to drill a well has declined to 58 days from 90 days for 16 crews. Drilling time for some wells is 26 days.
The company operates in the Orengburg area of Russia. By 2014 it plans to expand the program to 50 crews.
