National Fuel Gas Midstream Corp., Williamsville, NY, placed in service the Trout Run gathering system in Lycoming County, Pa., with initial production from four wells operated by NFG unit Seneca Resources Corp.

The system, which consists of 25 miles of mostly 20-in. high-pressure pipeline, delivers gas to an

interconnect with Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co. Trout Run is designed to serve Marcellus producers, anchored by Seneca, with transportation capacity in excess of 450 MMcfd. More facilities and gathering lines will be built as throughput increases.

As part of the completion of Trout Run, Seneca initiated production on a four-well pad on its DCNR 100 tract in Lycoming County. As of June 11, 2012, the four wells are producing at a combined rate of 45 MMcfd. Peak 24-hr production rates from the wells had a range of 10.1 MMcfd to 15.7 MMcfd. The wells were drilled with lateral lengths of 5,224 ft to 8,574 ft.

A three-well pad is being completed, and two Seneca-operated drilling rigs are running in the area. In addition to the four wells currently flowing into Trout Run, the tract has 65 well locations that are expected to drive production growth for several years.
