DNO tests Jurassic oil at Peshkabir in Iraqi Kurdistan

DNO International ASA said a well test at the Peshkabir-1 well on the Tawke PSC in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq has confirmed the presence of movable oil in the Jurassic interval. Testing continued.

Previous tests in the Peshkabir-1 well produced water at two Triassic intervals and one of three Cretaceous intervals. Following the Jurassic test, the company is considering two additional tests in the Cretaceous (OGJ Online, Apr. 12, 2012).

Peshkabir is west-southwest of DNO International’s producing Tawke oil field (see map, OGJ, Feb. 6, 2012, p. 50). TD is 4,092 m.
