Chevron Nigeria Ltd. sealed and abandoned the shallow water Funiwa 1A natural gas well offshore Nigeria after drilling a relief well.
Transocean Ltd. used its GSF Baltic jack up rig to drill the Funiwa 1A relief well after Nigerian authorities approved a response plan following a January well fire.
Meanwhile, production was restored at North Apoi field, which was shut in as a precaution. North Apoi field produced about 2,000 b/d as of June 18, Chevron said.
