Premier gauges deeper gas at Anoa offshore Indonesia

Premier Oil PLC reported a flow of 17 MMscfd of gas from fractured Eocene-Oligocene Lama sandstones in Anoa oil and gas field on Natuna Sea Block A offshore Indonesia.

Premier will integrate test results with log and seismic data to determine the ultimate recoverable resource of this deeper reservoir that will be produced through the Anoa facility.

The WL-5 development well went to a total depth of 11,012 ft and encountered 300 ft of fractured Lama sandstones (OGJ Online, Feb. 6, 2012). Premier Oil tested the pay at 10,658-770 ft measured depth on a 48/64-in. choke.

The West Callisto rig will move to drill the Biawak Besar prospect on Natuna Sea Block A. The results of this well are expected in April 2012.

Premier operates Natuna Sea Block A with a 28.667% interest. Its partners are KUFPEC Indonesia (Natuna) BV, Hess Corp., and Petronas of Malaysia.
