Holly Energy Partners reported a pipeline leak on its 6-in. crude oil pipeline in a Permian basin gathering system involving HEP’s Wood Station pump facility in West Texas.

The system gathers crude oil in the Permian basin for transport to refineries or to Midland.

About 1,100 bbl of crude oil was recovered from the spill. HEP said some oil was absorbed into the soil in the pump station area and in adjacent property.

A remediation plan was being finalized and remediation of the affected soil was expected shortly, HEP said Jan. 31.

“Once the soil remediation is complete, HEP does not anticipate any material environmental impact from the spill or safety risk to the public,” the company said.

HEP, based in Dallas, provides petroleum product and crude oil transportation, tankage, and terminal services.
