Egypt: Sea Dragon, Dana Gas eye Kom Ombo drilling

Sea Dragon Energy Inc., Calgary, will drill two exploratory and three development wells on the Kom Ombo concession in southern Egypt.

Sea Dragon Energy Inc., Calgary, will drill two exploratory and three development wells on the Kom Ombo concession in southern Egypt.

First up is the West Al Baraka-2 exploratory well 9 km southwest of Al Baraka oil field, to be followed by the Al Baraka-16 development well. The rig is being inspected before being mobilized to the concession, 1,000 km south of Cairo.

Al Baraka field, producing from multiple reservoirs, is averaging a gross 550 b/d of light oil.

Sea Dragon and Dana Gas of Sharjah each hold 50% interest in the concession, which covers 11,400 sq km.
