Texas: Apache gauges oil, gas in Cline shale lateral

Apache Corp.’s Permian Region said its first horizontal Cline shale horizontal well in Deadwood field of Glasscock County, Tex., was “somewhat disappointing” but its second well came in at 325 b/d of oil and 320 Mcfd of gas after a 10-stage slickwater frac.

Cumulative production was 8,800 bbl of oil equivalent in the second well’s first 30 days on line. Apache plans to complete two more horizontal wells by the end of 2011 in the Cline shale, between the Wolfcamp and Strawn formations (OGJ Online, Aug. 16, 2011).
