TAG Oil Ltd., Vancouver, BC, has connected two gas-condensate wells at Sidewinder on PEP 38748 in New Zealand’s Taranaki basin to a pipeline and placed them on continuous production.

The Sidewinder production facility is designed to handle as much as 30 MMcfd of gas plus associated condensate and is connected to a 3.5-km pipeline. The first two wells are making 6-12 MMcfd and 60-80 b/d.

TAG expects to tie in the other two Sidewinder wells later this month and continue development drilling in 2012. The company has begun shooting 60 line-km of 2D seismic at Sidewinder to identify new independent Mount Messenger prospects.
