The Apennine Energy SRL subsidiary of Sound Oil PLC is preparing to spud the Casa Tiberi-1 exploratory well at Falconara, Ancona, on the Montemarciano permit on central Italy’s Adriatic coast.

Casa Tiberi-1 will be drilled to a total depth of 700 m to test the natural gas potential of Pliocene sands. It is Sound Oil’s first operated exploratory well.

During the coming year, Sound Oil’s operations are expected to involve three operations in Italy, five exploratory wells in Indonesia, and the development of Kerendan gas-condensate field on East Kalimantan.
