Colombia’s state Ecopetrol has reported gauging 13.8° gravity crude oil at the stable rate of 532 b/d with 18.5% water cut at the CSE-8 ST1 exploratory well in the Puerto Gaitan jurisdiction in Meta Province on its Cano Sur block in the Llanos basin in Colombia.

A deviated wellbore allowed the well to contact thicker net pay, Ecopetrol said. The company used an electric submersible pump for the test. TD is 4,594 ft.

It is the fourth discovery in 2011 on the block 100% owned by Ecopetrol after the Mito-1, Fauno-1, and Pinocho-1 wells.
