Gazprom Neft has begun production of Euro Super 98 gasoline as part of a continuing upgrade of its 390,000 b/d Omsk refinery.

The low-sulfur gasoline meets Euro 5 emission standards, the strictest in effect at present.

Gazprom Neft last October commissioned a light naphtha isomerization unit at the refinery with output capacity of 800,000 tonnes/year. It began production of Euro 4 gasoline in March.

The company also is building a catalytic-cracking and diesel hydrotreatment complex at Omsk. Commissioning is scheduled for 2012.

Gazprom Neft recently let a contract for construction of a compressor string for the diesel hydrotreatment plant hydrogen-recovery unit to Elliott Group, Jeannette, Penn., which last year received a contract for similar construction related to the diesel hydrotreater.
