HOUSTON, July 13
-- Realm Energy International Corp., White Rock, BC, named Lindell C. Bridges as vice-president, exploration.

A shale exploration geologist with more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Bridges joins Realm Energy from EQT Corp., Pittsburgh, where he served as senior vice-president of geoscience, responsible for directing EQT’s geoscience activity in the Appalachian basin.

A key accomplishment at EQT was implementation of a technology program that resulted in one of the best wells in the Marcellus shale gas play, with a 30-day production rate of 22 MMcfd of gas and estimated ultimate recovery of 13 bcf.

Before EQT, Bridges was exploration manager for the Barnett Shale North Division of EOG Resources Inc., and geological manager, Eastern Division, for Chesapeake Energy Corp. While at Chesapeake, Bridges successfully drilled Fayetteville shale discovery wells in White County, Ark., extending the play more than 40 miles east of established core areas. He also was responsible for directing geoscience activities in 10 eastern states, including several shale plays.

Realm Energy International has shale projects in Poland and Germany and is acquiring rights in other European basins.
