Valero unit acquires Kentucky terminals

Valero Terminaling & Distribution Co. acquired product terminals in Louisville and Lexington, Ky., from Chevron USA Inc.

HOUSTON, June 28
-- Valero Terminaling & Distribution Co. acquired product terminals in Louisville and Lexington, Ky., from Chevron USA Inc.

The subsidiary of Valero Energy Corp. also acquired Chevron’s minority interest in the LouLex pipeline system connecting the terminals.

Terms weren’t disclosed.

The Louisville terminal receives products by barge and pipeline. It has 10 tanks with 500,000 bbl of in-service storage.

The Lexington facility receives products via the LouLex system. It has six tanks with 130,000 bbl of in-service storage.

Valero said the acquisition will help it expand wholesale marketing in eastern Kentucky with products from its 195,000-b/d refinery in Memphis, Tenn.
