GDF Suez becomes biggest Nogat shareholder

GDF Suez SA acquired from Total E&P Nederland BV an additional 18.2% share in Northern Offshore Gas Transport BV (Nogat) to become the largest shareholder in the pipeline company with 48.2% interest.

PARIS, Dec. 8 -- GDF Suez SA acquired from Total E&P Nederland BV an additional 18.2% share in Northern Offshore Gas Transport BV (Nogat) to become the largest shareholder in the pipeline company with 48.2% interest.

Nogat carries through its 264-km offshore network gas produced from the Dutch continental shelf, Denmark, and Germany to the Den Helder processing station in The Netherlands. Total capacity of the gasline and the processing unit amounts to 12 billion cu m/year.

GDF Suez E&P Nederland BV is operator in a consortium with Energie Beheer Nederland BV 45%, Total E&P Nederland BV 5%, and Venture Production Nederland BV 1.8%.

GDF Suez also operates the Noordgastransport BV (NGT) pipeline system. The combined Nogart and NGT gasline capacity supplies half of the gas consumption of Holland.
