HOUSTON, Dec. 10
-- Arena Offshore LP let a contract to a subsidiary of McDermott International Inc. for the construction and installation of a four-pile, bottom-founded jacket for the Riker prospect in 275 ft of water on Eugene Island Block 338 in the Gulf of Mexico.

The jacket will have 20 well slots, accommodate full processing capabilities, and support a self-contained drilling rig. Weight of the jacket and piles will be about 3,600 tons.

Designed production capacity of the EI 338 K platform is 20 MMscfd, 7,500 bo/d, and 12,500 bw/d.

McDermott's Morgan City fabrication facility will handle construction, assembly, testing, coating, load out, and tie down of the jacket.

McDermott expects to cut first steel for the jacket in third-quarter 2011 and carry-out the installation work with its DB50 construction vessel in second-quarter 2012.

Besides the jacket and pile installation, the offshore work will include the installation on the jacket of refurbished topsides and a drilling rig as well as the removal and reefing of an existing platform jacket.
