HOUSTON, Dec. 1 -- Enterprise Products Partners LP added about 2 million bbl of underground storage capacity for motor gasoline and distillates at Mont Belvieu, Tex., as part of a program to enhance service capabilities across its refined products network. With the completion of this storage project and other recently constructed facilities such as the partnership’s Port Arthur, Tex., terminal, Enterprise now offers 10 million bbl of refined products storage capacity in the Gulf Coast area.

Enterprise built the Port Arthur facility to support expansion of Motiva Enterprise LLC’s nearby refinery, its tank farm serving as the sole distribution point for output from the refinery under a 15-year agreement. The storage facility features 20 tanks totaling 5.4 million bbl of capacity (OGJ Online, June 7, 2010).

Major interstate and intrastate refined products pipelines accessible from Enterprise’s Gulf Coast facilities include the Enterprise TE Products, Centennial, Colonial, Explorer, and MagTex systems.

The refined products storage cavern added at the Mont Belvieu storage complex had previously been in NGL service. This storage facility is owned 66% by Duncan Energy Partners LP and 34% by Enterprise Products Partners LP.
