HOUSTON, Nov. 19
-- Kulczyk Oil Ventures Inc., Calgary, has spud the O-8 development well in southern Olgovskoye field in Ukraine’s Dnieper-Donets basin.

The well targets gas in Lower Bashkirian reservoirs at 2,800 m about 2,100 m southeast of the O-7 well recently placed on production.

With tie-in of O-7, the field now produces from four wells. O-3 produces from a Lower Muscovian horizon, O-4 from the Middle Bashkirian sands, O-5 from an Upper Muscovian horizon, and O-7 from a Lower Bashkirian horizon.

The 2011 work program, to be finalized by KUB-Gas with the assistance of KOV personnel in a month, will mainly target the comprehensive and efficient exploitation of Olgovskoye and Makeyevskoye fields.
