    Cairn Lanka Pvt. Ltd. has let a contract to Japan Drilling Co. for the Chikyu drillship to drill in the deepwater Mannar basin off Sri Lanka in 2011.

    HOUSTON, Nov. 16     – Cairn Lanka Pvt. Ltd. has let a contract to Japan Drilling Co. for the Chikyu drillship to drill in the deepwater Mannar basin off Sri Lanka in 2011.

    The contract is for three firm wells and two option wells. Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology owns the drillship.
