A joint venture led by Shell Philippines Exploration BV let a contract worth more than $2 million to Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) for geophysical surveys on SC 60 northeast of Palawan Island off the Philippines.

HOUSTON, Nov. 12
– A joint venture led by Shell Philippines Exploration BV let a contract worth more than $2 million to Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) for geophysical surveys on SC 60 northeast of Palawan Island off the Philippines.

EMGS will start work shortly using the BOA Galatea 3D EM vessel. Shell was awarded the block in 2006 (OGJ, Dec. 11, 2006, p. 18).

Interests in SC 60 are Shell operator with 55%, Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Co. Philippines (Onshore) BV 30%, and South China Resources Inc. 15%.
