HOUSTON, Nov. 29
– TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Co. is shooting a second 2D seismic survey off Southwest Sumatra, Indonesia, in the forearc basin along the Sundaland Margin.

The survey will add 2,700 km of new 2D data to infill the existing 6,900 km of multiclient data acquired in 2009. Shooting is to be complete by the end of 2010.

The previous seismic in the area has revealed a thick sequence of potential reservoir and source rock in the Mentawai-Bengkulu forearc basins, confirmed by a large gravity anomaly. The newest project will aid in mapping three unique seismically defined plays along this trend.
