Sinopec terminal gains NDRC approval

China’s National Development and Reform Commission has approved the first phase of Sinopec Corp.'s LNG terminal in eastern Shandong Province, according to press reports.

-- China’s National Development and Reform Commission has approved the first phase of Sinopec Corp.'s LNG terminal in eastern Shandong Province, according to press reports.

Originally expected to begin construction this year in Qingdao, the terminal will have capacity of 3 million tonnes/year. Late last year, Sinopec concluded a 20-year supply contract with ExxonMobil Corp.’s Papua New Guinea liquefaction project, currently under construction, for 2 million tpy.
