HOUSTON, Sept. 9 – Brigham Exploration Co., Austin, Tex., reported a production test rate of more than 2,000 b/d of oil equivalent from the Weisz 11-14-1H well in North Dakota’s Bakken oil play.
The flow rate, which came after 37 frac stages in the Middle Bakken, is the highest flow rate in the 32-year history of Credo Petroleum Corp., Denver, which has 6% interest in the well.
The Weisz well is on a 1,280-acre spacing unit about 1 mile east of Brigham’s Olson 10-15-H well, which has produced 126,000 boe in 18 months. Based on Brigham’s exploration plan for the area, as many as three Bakken wells are expected to be drilled on the spacing unit, and three more wells may be drilled to develop the deeper Sanish/Three Forks formation.
