Total SA has agreed to acquire a 15% interest in the Sebuku license covering off Kalimantan, Indonesia, from Pearl Oil (Sebuku) Ltd., a subsidiary of Mubadala Development Co. PJSC.

HOUSTON, Sept. 30
– Total SA has agreed to acquire a 15% interest in the Sebuku license covering off Kalimantan, Indonesia, from Pearl Oil (Sebuku) Ltd., a subsidiary of Mubadala Development Co. PJSC.

The license covers more than 2,300 sq km in 50-200 m of water 300 km south of the Total-operated facilities at giant Peciko gas-condensate field. The license contains the Ruby gas discovery, for which Indonesian authorities approved a development plan in July 2008.

Pearl Oil, Sebuku operator with 70% interest, expects the field to come on stream in 2013 with a gas production target of 100 MMcfd. Inpex Corp., Tokyo, has 10% interest in Sebuku.

Total operates the Mahakam and South East Mahakam licenses in the area.
