HOUSTON, Aug. 23 – Terrex Energy Inc., Calgary, is preparing an enhanced oil recovery development plan for its Strathmore field property 40 miles south of Calgary, Alta.
Terrex has 100% working interest in 3,840 acres of primarily freehold land. The field was discovered in 1985 and has produced 4.8 million bbl of oil from the basal quartz. Proved reserves are 160,500 bbl, and probable reserves associated with EOR are estimated at 1.6 million bbl.
Strathmore averaged 69 b/d and 78 b/d of oil equivalent in the first and second quarters of 2010, respectively. The budget for the second half of 2010 is $6.5 million. The first phase of the EOR project is to be implemented by the end of 2010. The company hasn’t identified the EOR technology to be used.
