Bakken short horizontal yields generous flow

American Oil & Gas Inc., Denver, tested rates of 2,178 b/d of oil and 3.7 MMcfd of natural gas from a 4,051-ft lateral in the Bakken formation at a development well in Dunn County, ND.

-- American Oil & Gas Inc., Denver, tested rates of 2,178 b/d of oil and 3.7 MMcfd of natural gas from a 4,051-ft lateral in the Bakken formation at a development well in Dunn County, ND.

The lateral at the Summerfield 15-15H well, on a 640-acre unit in 15-147n-96w, Dunn County, was stimulated with 14 frac stages. American is operator with 33% working interest.

The Viall 1-25H, in 24 and 25-156n-98w, Williams County, ND, averaged 1,748 boe/d from Bakken in its first 7 days on production. American is operator with 95% interest.

American, with a two-rig continuous drilling program, plans to start completion in late June at the Bergstrom 15-23H well, with 95% working interest, and in mid-July on the Johnson 15-35H well, 82% working interest. Both are to have at least 30 fracs in 9,600-ft laterals in Bakken.
